And I'm calling this post Fun with Flip Flops because I have to say, I had some serious fun making these flip flops. Information technology'due south quick, information technology'south piece of cake, and if you are lucky like me, you lot can end upwardly covered in glitter by the finish.
Fun with Flip Flops:
Flip Flops {I got mine at Michael's and they cost but $1.19 a pair}
Pigment-get together a bunch of paint of all varieties: puff pigment, glow in the nighttime paint, acrylic pigment, etc.
Gum or mod podge
Glitter
Fabric
Anything else y'all tin recall of!
I did 4 pairs of flip flops to requite yous some ideas simply the sky's the limit. Grab a bunch of supplies and let the kids (or teens) go crazy!
Glitter Flip Flops:
Who doesn't like to sparkle a picayune? I beloved these glittery flip flops. The glitter will probably fall off, merely they're fun for a while!
They also accept chevron fabric decoupaged on.
To practice this, simply trace the shape of the flip flop onto your fabric and cut information technology out:
Cut a picayune slit in the textile that lines upwardly with your toe strap:
Then paint the back of the textile with decoupage:
Then I as well painted the flip bomb with decoupage. You won't need a ton:
Then just put your textile on and printing downward and smooth it out. I just permit the fabric go right over meridian of the side straps. I had a little hanging over which I merely snipped off:
Then, add glue to the side and cascade on the glitter!
Striped Flip Flops:
I thought some fun stripes would exist pretty swell. To do these I just used painter's record to create my stripes:
And then painted with acrylic paint:
And peeled off the tape. I have to tell you lot that the paint did leak a niggling through the pigment. You tin use a q-tip and blast smoothen remover to clean up the leaks a little if you want.
Glow in the Dark Flip Flops:
These ones are piece of cake. Just grab a tube of DecoArt's Glow in the Dark Paint (I used the dimensional writer-like puffy paint) and draw whatsoever you want.
Patriotic Flip Flops:
Another easy one! I just used the puffy paint once more and drew stripes and stars and and then permit it dry out.
